Workout anyone?

One of our most memorable jobs involved moving and entire Gym complex, but we wouldn’t really call it a job though, more of a leg day, back day, arm day and cardio day all mixed into one.

Think of a basement floor, full of from floor to ceiling of equipment, a maze of stairs and corridors and a few tons of pure motivation.

The customer, just gave us the keys, and said, “I trust you,” and left.

Nine hours later, every dumbbell, bench, and machine was out with out a scratch on walls or dings to our pride. We didn’t just move a gym; we trained for a marathon. Certainly no need for a gym membership in this game.

Who’s job is it then?

Sometimes we get calls where, its just the man power required, and a can do attitude course.

One very worried client called: their beautiful new 3 seater sofa was lying in the hallway of their apartment building, the lift to her 10th-floor flat was out of order, and the first set of movers had already walked away, preaching something about “not in our remit”.

Upon arrival, we realised what was in store for us; steep stairs, tight turns, and one heavy boxed sofa (not so easy to hold on to).

But, walking away is not our style, we won’t lie, it was a challenge and very tiring, but we didn’t let that stop the customer from getting what they needed where. “Its just another one of those gym days” we said.

It’s all in the detail…

We once helped an elderly lady move from her townhouse in Watford to a nearby care home—a short distance away, but a delicate task.

The real challenge was her electric orthopaedic bed: very heavy, complex, and vital to her comfort. Dismantling it required patience and precision. One wrong step might mean wires would be trapped or fittings misaligned, when reassembling.

So we photographed every stage of the dismantling to ensure it would go back together just as we found it.. Once wrapped and moved piece by piece, along with all her other belongings into her new home, we made sure we followed our photo reel to reassemble and then tested every function of the bed. And of course situated her other pieces and belongings where required. Certainly another happy customer to add to the list.

That day reminded us—some moves rely more on attention to detail, than pure muscle.
