What Can a Man With a Van Do for Your Business?
Most people think of man with a van as a home-moving thing.
They’re wrong. Some of our busiest branches do more business work than residential. And for most small and medium-sized businesses, a man with a van is the right call. Faster to book, more flexible, and a lot less expensive than a full commercial removal firm.
Here’s what that looks like.
Office Moves
The obvious one. If you’re relocating your office and you don’t have a boardroom full of server racks and specialist equipment, you probably don’t need a full removal company. You need a capable team with a big enough van and the common sense to get your desks, chairs, monitors, filing cabinets and boxes from one address to another without incident.
That’s what we do. For offices of up to around twenty people, a man with a van team will typically sort the whole thing in a day. Sometimes less.
Single-Item Business Deliveries
You’ve bought a piece of equipment on eBay. A trade seller has a batch of shelving units you need at a new premises. A supplier is offering collection-only on something you really want.
Most couriers won’t touch anything that doesn’t fit in a parcel. That’s where we come in. Industrial printers, catering equipment, display units, workbenches. Large, heavy, awkward things. This is a regular part of what we do for business customers.
Regular Collection and Delivery Runs
Some businesses use a man with a van not for a one-off move but as a regular part of how they operate. A retailer doing a weekly stock run between sites. A trade business collecting materials from a supplier. A small manufacturer distributing to local stockists.
If this sounds like your business, it’s worth a conversation. Regular work suits both sides. You get reliability and a familiar face. We get steady work with a customer we know.
Clearances
Businesses accumulate things. Old furniture when you refurbish. Redundant stock when a product line ends. Equipment when a contract finishes. Filing cabinets full of paper that can finally be destroyed.
A man with a van can clear a business space a lot quicker and more cheaply than waiting for a commercial waste contractor. We collect, we load, we go. For items that can be resold or donated, we can usually point you in the right direction.
Shop Fits and Retail Moves
Retailers moving premises, opening a second site, or clearing out ahead of a refit are a regular part of our workload. Shelving, display units, till counters, stockroom contents. Retail moves are pressured in their own way, particularly when you’re working around a closing date or a handover deadline.
We’re used to working to tight timelines and in commercial spaces where other trades are coming and going at the same time.
What We’re Not
We’ll be straight with you. There are jobs that need a specialist.
If you’re moving a building full of high-value IT infrastructure and need full insurance coverage, chain-of-custody documentation and a dedicated project manager, you probably want a commercial IT relocation company.
If you’re relocating a warehouse operation with heavy plant, forklift equipment or fragile industrial machinery, you need a specialist logistics firm.
For everything else, which is most small and medium business moves, we’re the right call.
We cover 65+ locations across the UK. There’s a good chance your local branch is closer than you think.
