Craftsmanship at its best

We recently transported a set of extremely heavy cast iron gates from a property in old Harlow to a local metal works restorer.

It required a lot of careful planning just to get them off their hinges and into the van safely. You could tell these gates held a lot of craftsmanship and history, lots of swirls and rosette shaped finials. Once repaired, repainted and polished to its former glory, you just knew they were going to look stunning in situ.

We are really looking forward to returning them to their home, shining, restored, and ready to stand proudly once again as a beautiful feature of the property. 😁

Teamwork dreamwork

One of the most memorable was a four-day pack and relocation, from Harlow all the way over to the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

It was a huge job, six vans in total, pulling resources from our neighbouring branches (thanks again team Watford & Chelmsford), ten guys in total all working in perfect harmony. The teamwork started with carefully wrapping fragile items, packing just shy of 150 boxes from property to van. To loading all the furniture room by room. Through to coordinating the departure of every van. So that unloading was a methodical operation.

It was a particularly special job, though, the customer was so friendly, patient, and always ready with a good sense of humore and many cups of tea.

There was plenty of laughter amidst the long hours, good spirit, and shared pride in a job well done. At the end, it no longer felt like work; more like a friendship was made. Well its in our tagline “Friendly Local Movers”
