Recently, we did a complex server relocation for a Chelmsford-based architect. The task involved moving a large, heavy server from the ground floor to the first floor of their new building a few miles away.

The only access route out of the collection address was a narrow spiral staircase, which made the move particularly challenging. Planning and navigating with tight corners and steep steps required careful planning, teamwork, and strength. Despite the difficulty, our team has completed the job without any disruption to the client’s operations.

The client was impressed with the smoothness of the move, while we are proud of delivering a successful outcome.

There was one time a lovely customer just outside Chelmsford requested a typical pine wardrobe move “just needed moving upstairs.” she said, easy peasy?

Not a hope. It was way too big for the turn at the top of the staircase and not pine, but oak, so not the lightest thing either, no matter how we tilted, twisted, or shuffled it it wasn’t going to work that way.

Luckily, the bedroom it was intended for had a balcony looking out to the driveway. So, with a bit of inventive rigging, some team work, and masses of concentration, we hoisted it up and got it directly into the room that way.  Less than ideal, but thats far better than a customer being forced to return an item, they were so excited to have in their newly decorated bedroom.

One job that really stands out had us moving a beautiful upright piano from a local self-storage unit to its new home. The owner, quite anxious—it was her pride and joy, passed down from her grand father. She watched closely as we wrapped it with thick covers, lifted it onto our specialist wheel horse, and loaded it carefully into our van.

Every bump got a nervous glance, but we reassured her—we do this all the time. Step by step, we got it inside safely. The smile on her face? Priceless. With the right gear and a smidgeon of can-do, anything’s possible.
